Hi everyone.
As many of you know, the thing I love most, even more than skiing, is my dog Lucy. Lucy is cute, fun, playful, smart and very entertaining. The amount of joy she brings me is immeasurable (I hope I do the same for her).
My love of animals does not stop with Lucy but extends to most animals and particularly cute dogs that I see on the street. So, for my Mitzvah Project, I sought a charity that aligns with my love of animals. I have chosen the Jerusalem chapter of the SPCA (https://jspca.org.il/en/).
JSPCA is a non-profit organization whose goal is to provide love and second chances to animals in need, mostly dogs and cats. The JSPCA rescues and cares for animals that are abandoned or otherwise injured and offers shelter to approximately 350 prospective pets at any given time. In addition to the traditional adoption services of animals in the shelter, JSPCA operates a veterinary clinic, subsidizes spaying and neutering surgeries and provides community outreach and educational programs regarding the proper treatment of animals. In short, it is a GREAT organization!
While I have not visited the JSPCA myself (my recent trip to Israel was canceled due to COVID restrictions), I look forward to visiting and taking some of the dogs for a walk (volunteers do this weekly with all dogs) when I do eventually get to Jerusalem.
It would be great if you would consider making a contribution to JSPCA (in lieu of a gift) and be my partner in saving animals and placing pets in loving homes.
