Hi!
My name is Sharon Prokott. I am 44 years old and I am a wife and mother of two daughters and one son. I have been battling diabetis for 24 years and within the past couple years I was diagnosed with being Anemic, having a blood disorder, and Kidney failure. I have been on Dialysis since August 2013 and am awaiting a Kidney transplant.
With being anemic I always felt faint and started passing out a lot and that is when things started getting bad. I was referred to the Mayo Clinic immediately because my kidneys were starting to shut down and I was suffering from exhaustion and there was fluid on my heart. I was admitted to the Mayo hospital right away because my body was going into shock from my failing kidneys and also my heart stopped beating. Though I have survived heart failure, at that point I was in need of a kidney transplant and that is when I started dialysis. I needed to go through various testing before I was qualified for a kidney transplant and I ended up having a lot of set backs with C-Diff and other bacterial infections, but I got through it. Now I am clear of all infections and have been accepted to receive a kidney once a match comes along.
I have been dealing with visiting medical doctors for years and can't keep up with the bills coming in. I have missed watching my kids play in sports because I am either at the Mayo Clinic or at Dialysis 3 to 4 days a week. It would be such a stress relief if I could just get caught up on some of my medical bills and that is why I am asking for help.
Your donation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
Sincerely,
Sharon Prokott
