Dear Friends and Family,
I hope this letter finds you doing well! As you have probably guessed, I’m going to Romania again this Summer! I will be going with a team from our church. This will be my 5th time going, and I couldn’t be more excited! Romania is my second home. I have been going since 2006!
This year I will be doing a lot of filming. I will be making documentary type film to share the amazing things that are happening in Brasov, Romania! I’m so excited to share that with you all! Our team will be supporting the work of our Romanian missionaries, Nicu and Silvana Hagiu.
The Hagius live in Brasov where they have planted a Calvary Chapel in the heart of this beautiful city. We have watched their church grow from a home Bible study, to a ministry house, to a good-sized meeting room that they are outgrowing! One of our favorite things to do is to help them do park outreaches. We will be performing a mime and reaching out to children with activities for them.
The Hagius have also worked with Firm Foundation, a ministry that reaches out to the children of a Roma (Gypsy) village. The Roma are usually despised by Romanians who see them as beyond hope. But through the work of the Hagius and others, these children are being given a Christian education. We will be doing a Day Camp (VBS) with them, showing them God's unconditional love and sharing the Gospel.
We will also be assisting in the Calvary Chapel Romanian Pastors and Leaders Conference. After having no such conference for eight years, they came together last year, and it was such a blessing that more want to join this year. We will be ministering to the children so the adults can be taught the Word and encouraged in the work of the ministry.
I am writing in hope that you would partner with me in these efforts. I have two needs. The first need is for prayer. Having been to Romania four times before, I can assure you that there is a great number of things we need prayer for:
-Our team. Pray that we will continue to be unified and that the Lord would use us in ways that we could never imagine!
-Filming. It’s been on my heart to take what is going on over there, film it, and share it back home. I’ve wanted to do this since 2008. The Lord has opened doors this year for that to happen! Please pray for creativity and wisdom on how to document the amazing events we experience. (I will share this with you when I’m done!)
-My family. As some of you know we have two boys now! Landen who is three and Tucker who is one. My wife will be staying home with the boys this time around (sad face). Pray for her as I will be gone for two weeks.
-Funds. Pray that our team can get the funds together to go. The tickets are more this year than previous. We are working hard on saving money and fundraising.
Second, I would like to ask for your financial support. “Where God guides, God provides.” I love this quote because I have realized through the years that if God is all about it, He provides. I’m trusting in the Lord that if He wants me to go, then He will provide the funds.
I would greatly appreciate your financial support in whatever God puts on your heart to contribute.
We are raising $2500 total. However, I need $1,600 by APRIL 30th for our airfare.
