Hope for Hopey
Donation protected
Hi all, my name is Ashley Lennie. I am generating this gofundme to raise funds to assists Tyrone Raddi and Connie Gordon.
In August their daughter Hopey was sent to Inuvik from Tuktoyaktuk, with what was thought to be a severe skin reaction to a mosquito bite. After some time in Inuvik and back and forth visit to the hospital it was decided that Hopey would be better assessed by a ped's doctor's at the Stollery Childrens Hospital in Edmonton, AB.
Hopey's condition continued to puzzle the medical staff at the Stollery, all the while staying stagnant. Her mosquito bites began to develop into stubborn lesions and eventually began to spread to different areas of her body. Hope continued to go through all the scans, blood work up, etc to try and figure out what was going on. Finally on September 20th they found that she had EBV Lymphoma - which is a cancer of the lymphatic system which is part of the immune system.
The course of Hopey's treatment will commence in Calgary, AB. That being, Hopey, Tyrone and Connie will have to temporarily relocate to Calgary so that Hope can continue her treatment and recovery from this disease.
We all can imagine the impact that this has had on Tyrone, Connie and their family, especially Hopey. Unfortunately the treatment and recover will have them away from their home for 6+ months. This severely impacts them financially with having to pay for their accommodations, transportation and essentials. This is on top of ensuring the bills at home are taken care of as well.
I ask today that you find it in your heart to aid the family at this time. They shouldn't need to worry about this and keep their focus on Hopey's recovery.
Through it all Hopey has continue to maintain a shiney, fun and playful attitude. Thats just Hopey :)
I thank you for you time and donations you are able to make.
