Through our home church, Kellen and I have been exposed to many different mission trip presentations and this past summer, he expressed an interest to participate in a trip himself. As we talked about different opportunities, God kept bringing one person and one place to mind...Tori Alverson & Madagascar! We feel strongly that God is asking us to visit Tori this summer and so we have begun the fundraising process. We hope that you will support us with your prayers and consider supporting us financially.
Our trip is planned for June 5-15, 2015 and we will primarily be going as an encouragement to Tori and the AIM (Africa Inland Mission) missionary team that has been in Mada for nearly 2 years. Tori and the AIM team have been reaching the Sakalava people for Christ by developing relationships and through the use of smaller ministries (Bible translation and songwriting).
While we are in Madagascar, we anticipate that we will be involved in some of the smaller ministries that Tori helps lead. Specifically, we hope to participate in the bi-monthly (church) gathering and hope to enhance the relationships within the village that have already been developed. Kellen is especially interested in interacting with the village children and adolescents.
Kellen and I both feel like God has been opening doors through this process and that He will continue to make a way for us to visit. We are both excited about the possibility of this trip and excited to see what God has in store for us!
