Help my dad walk again- ReWalk
Donation protected
Almost five years ago, my dad Marc lost all function of his legs within a matter of hours. After one month in the hospital and another in physical rehab his condition is left without cause of trigger or a cure. The diagnosis was transverse myelitis - but no doctor could explain why this had happened- it was totally random.
Marc was an avid world traveler, tour manager and gardener. He is a philosopher and speaks 9 languages fluently and since his diagnosis , he has taught himself two more!!
Although my dad can not walk he has mental strength, determination and will power like no one I've seen. He does his own physical therapy consistently every day- several times a day, he has chosen to have a unsurpassable positive attitude and is largely independent. He deserves to walk again.
My mother was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1990 and was also wheelchair bound, this family is no stranger to tribulation and disability. However, after my mom Michele's passing into rest in 2006, we remain optimistic. In fact since my dad was stricken with this disease, we have regained a lost opportunity to develop a loving genuine relationship that otherwise would simply not exist. Gifts come in all sorts of packages.
My relationship with my dad has developed so much under these circumstances, words will never come close to expressing how I feel.
So, for now my fiancé, Victor and I put my dad on his riding lawn mower on the weekends so he can enjoy at least one activity that he used to do... Be close to nature.
Although we never lose hope that my dad will walk again on his own, our window of good, bounce back recovery and rehabilitation is closing. I'm asking your help in funding assistance for a robotic exoskeleton called ReWalk. I've provided some links below for more information. Thank you so much for your support and time-
