Replace Stolen Car

On August 5th, I moved 14 hours away, from Florida to Indiana, with what fit into my car. The morning of the sixth, when I went out to move things into my new apartment I realized that my car was gone and all that was left was glass and one bag of pillows that had been thrown out after they broke the back window. I called the cops, reported the car stolen, and reported it stolen to insurance. An officer came and said that they had found my car not far from my apartment "broken down" and it was at impound. Someone had broken one of the back windows out, used a USB to steal the car, crashed it and left it on the side of the road.

Unfortunately, my car fell into the category of vehicles that could be stolen without a key and with a USB. At the time I had no idea that it was even a thing, and had only heard of it a couple of times with Kias. Due to theft on these vehicles being so high across the country right now, insurance doesn't seem to want to cover much, and the value of my vehicle has gone down to nearly nothing for resale. I just moved states away and signed a lease on a new apartment. I had just paid off my Hyundai last month to help financially with moving and starting over.

On top of losing my only vehicle, nearly everything I owned was in my car at the time it was stolen.

I lost all of my clothes, all my collectibles from over the years, and a lot of things that meant a lot to me and were hard to lose.

The cops won't be looking into recovering my belongings since my car was found.

And insurance won't cover any of my belongings that were stolen.

Working in the music industry, my car is a huge part of my daily life. I've already had to miss work opportunities because I don't have a vehicle. And the added cost of Uber will add up quickly.

It's hard for me to ask for help, but the added financial burden of having to put a downpayment on a car, possible payments, and paying to register and gain the title of a new car is something I didn't budget.
