Support Meghan's Battle Against Breast Cancer

Donation protected

I'm reaching out to share the story of my sister, Meghan -- a devoted single mother, a hardworking community advocate, and the kind of person who lights up every room with her fun, vibrant energy. A few days before Christmas, at just 39 years old, Meg's world was shattered when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is now in the midst of the toughest battle of her life.

Meghan has always been the type to put others first. She works at the Council on Aging, serving seniors in her community with compassion and care. She's also always there for her two amazing boys, Wes and Cole, making sure they have everything they need to grow up safe and happy. But now it's our turn to show up for her and give her the love and support she needs in this very difficult time.

As a single mom, she’s worked incredibly hard to create a stable and loving home. She bought a house on her own to give her kids (and dog, Cece!) the life they deserve, and she’s done it all with strength, grace, and determination.

But cancer doesn’t wait — and it doesn’t care how hard you work or what kind of person you are. Over the last few months of appointments, she has already exhausted all paid leave from her job, and medical bills are piling up. She has had multiple types of imaging, biopsies, procedures, surgeries, and too many appointments to count. Last week she got fitted for her cold cap and cut several inches of her hair, and this week she will get a port and have her first  chemotherapy treatment (a 9 hour day!). Over the next three months, she will undergo weekly chemo, then she will have several weeks of radiation, and will continue another type of targeted cancer therapy for a full year. Meghan is planning to work as much as her body allows, as she has since the day she found out in December, but the last thing we want is for her to have any worry about finances during this fight for her health.

We’re asking for your help to lift the weight of even having to think about money, so she can focus on healing. Meg has an amazing support system fighting with her every step of the way, but it's time to show her the size of her army! Your donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward medical expenses, household costs, frequent travel expenses to and from Dana Farber, and ensuring that she can rest and recover during treatment.

Meghan's oncologist specializes in improving outcomes in young women with breast cancer, and thankfully she has an excellent prognosis. We just need to help her through the battle! Every bit of love and support means the world to her and our entire family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
