Hi, my name is Lisa Cangin. For the past few years I’ve had a bunch of health problems that have significantly impacted my quality of life. Three years ago I suffered from a stroke, which was the first of many problems to come. Approximately a year after that, I started to feel congested. I was diagnosed with bronchitis at a local urgent care, however upon the symptoms not going away, I was rushed to the hospital. It was then revealed that I suffered two heart attacks, and my lungs were beginning to fill up with water. Soon after, I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. Multiple stents were put in and I began taking 20-25 different medications each day. In February of 2021 I received a call from my doctor informing me that I had high creatine levels in my blood. Following weeks of testing, it was then revealed that my kidneys had started to fail and I was in end stage renal failure. Since then, I have been subject to dialysis three times a week, which has hindered my ability to work and participate in any activities that I used to.
In February of 2022 I began testing to see if I am eligible for a kidney transplant, which would not only do away with the three grueling treatments of dialysis I must go through each week to stay alive, but also would significantly help improve my heart function. The medical bills are very expensive, the co-payments have become excessive and the debt will only continue to grow following the procedure. This has affected my entire family as I still do not have the ability to work and must rely on help from others in order to have this surgery.
I am setting this fundraiser in order to help with expenses that will include (and are not limited to):
* Medical insurance copayments for hospitalization and long term care for physical therapy, and other living expenses and bills
* Cost for medication following surgery
Thank you for the support. Any amount matters and is appreciated. God bless you.
