Wheels for my Wheelie
Donation protected
G'day I'm Deb & I'm a mum & a carer for my intellectually & physically disabled daughter, yep the gorgeous girl in the photo.
So here's the thing, we need a decent car, being on a Carer's Pension I tried for finance thinking I had an income but it was not to be, as we have no assets to speak of, no one wants to know us.
On my own I can't get enough money together to buy a safe decent station wagon for us, saving is not an option on the pension & my daughter's income (Disability Pension) cannot legally be used.
As my daughter is in a wheel chair & has medical issues requiring Dr visits etc a safe reliable car is a must!
Our old girl, which was a repairable writeoff when I bought it 5 years ago, is at the end of it's life after continually costing me a small fortune to keep it on the road & I worry constantly about break downs. I also have to travel monthly 4 + hours up the coast to see my mother in a nursing home & again a reliable car is needed.
I'm also aging & have been granted a wheel chair hoist for the roof of my car very excited until told I have to update the car.
I find this a very difficult thing to do, ask for help like this but I really am at my wits end. Having wheels for my wheelie girl means the world to us, we can retain our independance.
I thank you for taking the time to read this & am very thankful if you can manage to help us out.
Some day this might be you & believe me I'll be there for you too.
With thanks & love
