Hi, my name is Becky and I’m trying to help raise some financial support for my cousin Jen. Here is why:
Recently, Jen was diagnosed with invasive lobular carcinoma (stage 3 breast cancer). For those that know her, you know she is an extraordinary human being. She is cheerful, loving, very independent, unbelievably strong, and always puts her family and friends before herself.
Due to the unforeseen circumstances that are ahead of her, she will be battling breast cancer by undergoing 5 to 6 months of treatment including chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation.
With this unexpected battle, some of her medical expenses will not be covered, as well as her everyday necessities of life.
We are asking for your support with the financial burden she will have to endure. We are hoping we can all come together to help relieve some of the stress of the medical expenses and treatments that lie ahead.
Jen is one of the most selfless people I have ever known and is always there to give her love and support, and would give the shirt off her back to anyone that needed it. In this difficult time, let’s raise money to help cover the cost of breast cancer treatment, medical bills, care, and more. Let’s show her that she is not alone by providing financial support and stability so she can focus on kicking cancer's ass!!!
The chance that a woman will die from breast cancer is 1 in 39, or about 2.5%.
In 2025, an estimated 42,170 women will die from breast cancer in the U.S.
* A report from Duke Cancer Institute found that on average, patients are spending 11% of a household’s income on the cost of cancer treatment.
* Patients often sacrifice basic needs like food and utilities to afford cancer treatment, leading to increased anxiety and depression.
* Nonprofit AARP found that the average cost of treatment is $150,000 for a person battling cancer.
