This is my mom and best friend, Michelle Licona. Many of you may know her from the Okatie Ale House where she has bartended and served for the past year. Others may recognize her from when she owned Nonna Lucia. She is the one who always has a smile on her face.

Unfortunately, she had an accident at home after work one day which required her to have surgery for a broken ankle and several ruptured tendons. She also has nerve damage and is in a wheelchair. She is non-weight bearing and expected to be out of work with no income for 4 months. January 27 she will got to MUSC where she will have a decompression, discectomy and fusion of her cervical spine.

I'm asking for help for medical expenses as well as living expenses so she doesn't get evicted. Thank you for your support. I know she will be very grateful. My mom has a hard time asking for help but she is the first one to be there for people when they have a need. When she owned Nonna Lucia she always gave back to the community and supported fund raising efforts in the restaurant. She even selected 2 highschool seniors who were preparing for college during COVID. She raised enough money for each student and was able to purchase most of the items on their Amazon wish list.
