How do you begin to capture the love we feel for children? Tesla was the first friend of our own little girl. She was the beautiful blue-eyed baby with a mass of curls across the street.  Tesla is the first and only child (4 years old) of Matt & Kendell Smith.  To this day, I have never met a more friendly child - the first time you meet her she will walk right up to you and give you a hug. Little "bug" is bubbly, curious, and smart - living up to her scientific namesake. She is an expert gardener like her mom and dad, always outside and up to something. Her giant dogs, chickens, and pet peacock (yes, peacock!) are her best friends. This year she started pre-k and was loving it.  She is precious to us and to everyone else that knows her. 

A few days ago Tesla’s mom and dad found out Tesla has acute lymphoblastic leukemia. It was caught early by her vigilant school teacher, nurse, and family doctor. Tesla and her mom and dad live in Oklahoma, but will spend the next few months living in Memphis so Tesla can be treated at St. Jude’s. From there she will still need treatment for years in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Obviously they want to stay with their little girl as much as possible through this but it will be hard on them and we want to do everything we can to help them manage this.

Matt & Kendell work incredibly hard - I don’t know what else to say except these are genuinely good people who deserve the best. Please help any way you can and keep these three in your thoughts and prayers.
