Rick O'Neil is an incredible guy who is currently engaged in a serious battle with cancer.  He was admitted to the University of Michigan Medical Center last week and is now waiting on a plan by the oncology team.  We would like to raise funds to assist Rick with the mounting healthcare bills, so he and his family can focus on the challenges of defeating cancer, rather than having to worry about finances.
Rick has so many enduring qualities.  He has helped countless people in many different ways.  Among those who have been blessed by Rick is the Boy Scouts of America.  
Affectionately known as "Mr. O" to all his scouts, Rick has been a positive role model for many hundreds of boys.  During his tireless service to scouting, Mr. O has mentored approximately 60 boys to become Eagle Scouts!   Mr. O has served as Unit Commissioner, is a member of the Order of the Arrow, and is the recipient of the District Award of Merit.  
 For the past 20 years, Mr. O has poured his heart and soul into the development of fine young men through his volunteer leadership in Boy Scouts as an Assistant Scoutmaster.  So many of us have benefited from his wisdom, his kindness, and his love.  Mr. O has faithfully given, never asking for anything in return.
So now it's time for us to give back.  If every scout who has personally benefited from Mr. O's leadership could donate, it would be great.  If every fellow Arrowman would donate, it would be wonderful.  If every young man that has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout under the mentorship of Mr. O, it would be outstanding.   If all scouts everywhere, both former and current, from Tenderfoot to Eagle, who have ever repeated and understood the meaning of the words in The Oath "...to help other people at all times...", if you could give back just a dollar or two, it would be life changing!  
And of course, if you have never been involved with scouting but would like to lend a helping hand to a guy who has spent his life helping others, we say thank you.
