AIUTA ALESSANDRO: RISCHIA LA VITA

Alessandro ha 36 anni e vive a Reggio Calabria. A 8 anni gli avevano detto che non avrebbe superato la notte. La diagnosi era tra le più spietate: una malattia rarissima, la SEU (Sindrome Emolitico Uremica). Ma Alessandro ce l’ha fatta. E da allora ha lottato ogni giorno con una forza che ha commosso tutti noi. Ha sopportato 16 anni di dialisi, tumori alle ossa, fratture, trasfusioni continue, un cuore ingrossato e una valvola danneggiata, anni in sedia a rotelle. Ha affrontato un trapianto di rene, che oggi funziona solo al 20%. È invalido al 100%, non può lavorare, vive con una pensione minima. E come se non bastasse, vive in una casa dichiarata inagibile dalla Sanità: muffa, infiltrazioni, crepe, crolli. Una casa tossica, pericolosa, dove ogni respiro può trasformarsi in un’infezione grave. È da mesi chiuso dentro, perché uscire significa rischiare.

 Le istituzioni lo ignorano. Ma noi no.

HELP ALESSANDRO: HIS LIFE IS AT RISK

Alessandro is 36 and lives in Reggio Calabria, Southern Italy. At just 8 years old, doctors told him he wouldn’t survive the night. The diagnosis was one of the cruelest: a rare disease called HUS (Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome). But Alessandro made it. And since then, he has fought every single day with a strength that moved us all. He endured 16 years of dialysis, bone tumors, fractures, constant blood transfusions, an enlarged heart, and years in a wheelchair. He received a kidney transplant, which now works at only 20%. He is 100% disabled, unable to work, and survives on a minimal pension. And as if that weren’t enough, he lives in a house declared uninhabitable by public health authorities: mold, leaks, cracks, collapsing ceilings. A toxic, dangerous place where every breath could trigger a serious infection. He hasn’t left home for months, because stepping outside means risking his life. Institutions have turned their backs on him. But we haven’t.
