Friends,
The six years of coaching have been amazing, but over the last year our heart, our burden, and our concern to want to reach college students with Christ has grown and grown. The Lord has laid it upon our hearts to pursue working with Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) , the campus ministry of the Presbyterian Church in America. The first step in the process of Chad becoming a campus pastor is attending RUF Assessment this winter.
Assessment is essentially an intensive, highly relational interview process developed by RUF to assess our gifts, personalities, and strengths and weaknesses in order to first approve us and then recommend the best possible ministry placement for both the college campus and for us.
So while we are open to other ministry callings, we are going into Assessment very much wanting to work for RUF if it is the Lord's will! Not only do we have the opportunity to reach people for Christ in a very crucial time of life, but we believe they have a lot to offer us in terms of growing in the gospel and training leaders and ministers (see Tim Keller talk about RUF's value to the church ). If we are approved, we will seriously consider any campuses which are available and offered to us as a good fit.
Would you pray and consider coming on board with us in this first step of our journey?
The cost of RUF Assessment is $1500 which we need to raise by December 16th . All gifts are needed and appreciated, whether you can give $10 or $100! Honestly, anything, even $5 would help us a ton!
Our decision to raise support for Assessment is about more than just asking for money. We want to invite you to learn about, pray for, and support the work of RUF, because the Lord is moving powerfully on college campuses. Investing in campus ministry is an extremely important and rewarding ministry effort which is raising up the next generation of Christians. Whether or not you can financially support us at this time, please pray for us!
Thank you, and please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions! We look forward to being in touch.
Thank you again for considering,
Chad & Kristen Turner
