Hi My name is Jamie Priest (DSS Civils owner)& Ian Ellis (Manager at Travis Perkins),are to complete an ultramarathon along the iconic Hadrians wall conquering a whopping 70 mile run (113KM) +3460ft elevation, Starting at Carlisle and finishing at Gates head, Millennium Bridge. I am currently raising money for my relative (Jasmine woods) who is currently battling stage 4 Hodgkin lymphoma cancer. I truly appreciate you taking a moment to read her story .

Jasmine 21 years of age give birth to a beautiful baby girl (Araiah), just three months later with what jasmine thought to be only postpartum symptoms wasn’t!, it was going to be the start of a battle she needed to win!
Trying to enjoy motherhood jasmine noticed she couldn’t hold Araiah without feeling extremely exhausted along with loosing a significant amount of weight,
  • she was unable to eat lucky if she could finish just half a sandwich.
  • constantly out of breath
  • lump located in neck
  • severe stomach pains
this was just SOME of jasmines symptoms. In total Jasmine went to the doctors a total of five times being told there was an infection in her body but wasn’t able to locate were, sending her home with antibiotics every time she visited. By this time the lump had significantly grown jasmine demanded a second opinion and was sent to ear, nose&throat clinic, on the 12th of December Jasmine was sent for a camera up her nose and down her throat were emergency biopsy’s were taken. On the 22nd of December just three days before Christmas jasmine was excited to spend her first Christmas with her baby girl yet the nightmare began. The biopsy Immediately confirmed stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma and now Christmas will never be the same with the lingering horrid news and memory of diagnosis.
Moving to January 2024- Jasmine was admitted as an inpatient to start escalated chemotherapy were she found out she unfortunately had sepsis which ended up being admitted for one week in hospital. Outstandingly jasmine completed 4 rounds of chemotherapy which she got to Ring the bell although still having a Mesidential mass & was placed on “watch & wait”, whilst on watch and wait her cancer then spread.
She then started a different type of chemotherapy, unfortunately again jasmine went two cycles until she was admitted back into hospital due to another infection were she spent 2 weeks in there, with chemotherapy being 6-8 hours long means jasmine yet again has to spend time away from her baby girl. With every scan as up to now that jasmine undergoes she again has to spend more time away due to radiation and can only see Araiah in little rooms away from all toxins on the ward.

Whilst the cancer grows so does Araiah, she misses her mommy from then and still to now. She’s spent so much of her life not knowing what it’s like to play and bond with other children at play groups etc because they have to isolate and keep away from germs to “keep mommy safe” instead she knows mommy has to go for a little while “to get better”. Araiah also knows that when jasmine had a picc line fitted it was then named mommy’s “peppa picc line” so she is able to recognise it and to be a little careful around mommy
Sadly jasmine is not responding to either chemotherapy’s she has undergone and was waiting for a stem cell transplant which was scheduled and then cancelled shortly afterwards due to (C) being too progressive.
Moving to the date of February 2025 where jasmine was told she had to undergo immunotherapy 30 mins every 3 weeks. Which devastatingly was yet again cancelled. Jasmine and her family has gone through so much pain and heart break and it still isn’t over.
At just the age of 21 years old jasmine is on 32 tablets per day plus an injection which is Cruel and no life for a girl her age.
At the age of 17 months old Araiah still waits for mommy to get better and mommy has to keep going.
jasmine is still fighting to this day and will continue to try and beat this battle.
Jasmine is a massive part of a community, a cousin,a sister,a daughter,a granddaughter a friend a best friend but most importantly a mommy, this journey has sure been difficult with so many Bumps in the road but yet she still marches on for her baby girl she is such a loving, caring and a beautiful gold hearted girl and forever still smiles.
From the community we have a few words to say about jasmine.
“Nobody deserves to have that horrible disease however it hits us hard as she tries to go above and beyond to help others and still does now despite her situation, she is a beautiful human being truly and we hope we can raise as much money as we can so jasmine can spend some quality time with her family and Araiah with ought having to worry about any money situations”

please if you could help us raise money for jasmine & her choice of charity “young lives vs cancer” which has been outstanding helping jasmine along her journey so far and journey ahead.
Thankyou for your time and support it is very much needed and appreciated.
many thanks
