Please Help Me Help My Mom, My Hero By Elijah Duce

Hi, I'm Elijah, and it's my greatest wish to raise enough to be able to be the caregiver for my mom who has been my everything in my life so far. Luckily she qualifies for Medicaid which will pay for her necessary heart surgery in the next month, but she has been homeless the last few months since she was pulled from her burning home during the night of May 28th and has literally lost all her belongings, though funds will not be used to replace items or furniture lost in the fire.

Any funds raised here will be used to obtain housing other than a single room I have now so I can for her care after her surgery and during her recovery. And if this fundraising is successful too, any additional funds also replace the engine in her car that threw a rod last month so she can get to and from her medical follow-up appointments.

I'm a 22-year-old university student that was studying chemical engineering, but I left school to work full-time before she lost her house in the fire. Your donations would go to help me be able to upgrade from a single bedroom I now rent in a boarding house in Page Arizona, to rent a small apartment where my mom could stay with me as she recovers from her surgery over the next couple of months instead of her being alone out in the western desert elements without air-conditioning as it regularly gets over 100 degrees Fahrenheit in the day.

And hopefully, with your generosity, I could replace the engine in her car so she can get to her follow-up medical treatments, which she now cannot.

I am the eldest son, and my mom has been my champion in my life. As a single mom most of my life, she made sure I wanted for nothing. She was always involved and I can't imagine life without her. She has been my cheering section and I really want to keep her. This last year has left us unprepared for these events that took such a terrible turn and I am now appealing to your kindness- friends not yet made, and those whom I already have met too. By helping me help her, you couldn't save a more kind, loving, shy but generous soul. She rarely asks for help because she always feels like there are so many others that need the help more.

Her first consultation with the cardiology team is next week August 29th, 2023. That's when we'll know what her surgery date will be.

Housing here is rare, so I'm looking to get a place she can stay in as well as myself so I can be her caregiver and get her out of the elements. Her hospital is three hours away. My work at a hotel will give me the time off. I just need some help to get her back on her feet. Her prognosis is good with proper care.
