My Son Stephen Vaughan funeral cost
Donation protected
Hello my name is Yvonne Vaughan. On Thursday, February 19th at 1:35 am my son Stephen Vaughan's heart stopped beating at HUP.
Stephen was born 8/1/81 unfortunately, Stephen was born with the congenital heart disease Double Outlet Right Ventricle. When he was 10 days old, I was asked what children's hospital did I want him to go for this emergency surgery. St. Christopher's was the closest, i asked which one was the best? Within, what seemed like minutes we were at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia better known as CHOP. No one believed he would make it past 3 years. Needless to say he hung in there and at 14years old when he was about to begin high school he suffered a stroke and through the grace of God, and many prayers and his high school which he had not even begun to attend, Roman Catholic for boys. Stephen eventually graduated from Roman in 1999. He went on to attend Albright College.
stehen worked at the convention center downtown Philly, but had to resign when he started going into congestive heart failure. That was a few years ago. My son lived a good life. Granted sometimes he got depressed feeling like living in an old man's body with a young man's mind, but he kept moving forward until 1:35 am Thursday, February 19th.
Thanks to President Obama's medical reform, Stephen signed up for insurance, only he had one year paid in, he needed three. He funeral costs are $4285 plus other expenses. We are able to get $550 from his policy. I hope to bury him this Saturday mainly because he was born on a Saturday, as a poetic he would see the full circle of life on that. Stephen is my eldest son and he leaves behind his brother, Ian and myself, his grandmother Sarah, aunt Jen and uncle Des, his cousins Branden, Kamisha, Des, jr., and Crystal. Our pet cats Frisky whom Stephen picked the name and Parkside Kitty.
