Hello, this is Maritza, the niece of Nicolaza Maria and am starting this with cooperation from the family. It is with extreme sadness that the Quispe-Patrocinio family announces the passing of their beloved Nicolaza Maria. Maria was a mother, wife, aunt, sister, and loved by many. She battled with cancer for over a year, and due to other complications, and after a long, long battle, God chose her to come by His side. Maria is remembered as being a warrior, a devoted mother, and a selfless and caring being who always put others ahead of herself, and a great chef in Peruvian cuisine. Maria arrived to the United States in 1997, being one of the first in her family to set foot in Elizabeth, NJ and settling into a small bedroom with just a mattress. At the start of her life in NJ, Maria worked hard to bring the rest of her family to the United States, having worked from sunrise to sunset, double shifts, as a meat packer and member of International Brotherhood of Teamsters, for years, to kick off her American Dream. Maria had a deep love for God and the scripture, family gatherings, BBQs, her pet cat, cleanliness, and cooking and serving others – Maria would be the last one to eat and was the one to ensure that the food buffet was bountiful at any event. We could write about Maria on and on, but we hope this gives you a hint into her life. The last year and plus was lived by runs to chemotherapies, radiation therapies, specialty doctor visits, trips across state lines, hospital and ER runs, but also by more family gatherings and special moments and travels to continue building memories with her husband and daughters. Sadly, she left too soon and we could not fulfill all the plans we had for her (her daughter’s graduation, her daughters’ wedding, grandchildren, ringing the 5 year survival bell), but God’s plans were greater. Her personal plans for her family were also left unfinished, but that is all being survived and lived on in her daughters, Emy (30) and Aileen (16), and her husband Luis.

This campaign is started for the family and Maria’s youngest daughter, Aileen, to help cover the costs of Maria’s last visible moment, to cover Maria’s expenses as she battled over the last year, and to care for the future of Aileen, who is only sixteen years old and whose future is impacted by the loss of her mother. The family has never asked for anything and always hesitated to start fundraisers, despite the most difficult moments while caring for Maria, but we now seek your support. If you cannot donate monetarily, please do a small prayer for her as she enters the Kingdom of Jehovah. May God bless all of you who come across this, we will update this with funeral services in the coming days.

Hola, Soy Maritza, la sobrina de Nicolaza Maria y soy la persona que está iniciando esto en cooperación con la familia. Con demasiada tristeza, la Familia Quispe-Patrocinio anuncia el fallecimiento de su querida Nicolaza Maria. Maria era una madre, esposa, tía, hermana, y persona muy querida por muchos. Ella batallo contra el cáncer por mas de un ano, y por razón de otras complicaciones, después de una larga batalla, Dios decidió llevarla a su lado. Maria es recordada por ser una guerrera, una madre devota, por poner como prioridad a todas las personas que antes que a ella misma, y como una gran chef de comida peruana. Maria llego a los Estados Unidos en 1997, siendo la primera de su familia en asentarse en este país y empezando en un pequeño cuarto con solo una cama en Elizabeth, NJ. Al comienzo de su vida en NJ, Maria trabajo duro para traer al resto de su familia a los Estados Unidos, trabajando duro desde el amanecer hasta el anochecer, en turnos dobles, como una empacadora de carnes y como miembro del Hermanamiento Internacional de Teamsters, por muchos años, con motivo de iniciar su Sueno Americano. Maria tuvo un profundo amor por Dios y las sagradas escrituras, disfrutaba mucho de las reuniones familiares, los BBQs, de su gata, de la limpieza, de cocinar y servir a otros – Maria era la ultima en comer y era la primera en asegurarse que la comida fuera abundante en cualquier evento. Nosotros podríamos escribir más y más sobre Maria, pero esperamos que esto sirva como una excelente descripción de su vida. A lo largo del ultimo ano, ella estuvo atravesando por quimioterapias, terapias de radiación, visitas médicas entre y fuera del estado, visitas a hospitales y salas de emergencias, pero también muchos a eventos familiares, momentos especiales y viajes para continuar construyendo memorias con su esposo e hijas. Lamentablemente, ella partió muy pronto y no pudimos terminar todos los planes que teníamos para ella (la graduación de su hija, el matrimonio de sus hijas, conocer a sus nietos, tocar la campana de supervivencia de 5 años), pero los planes de Dios son más grandes. Los planes que ella tenía aún no han sido completados, pero estos planes aún siguen sobreviviendo y viviendo en sus hijas, Emy (30) and Aileen (16), and su esposo Luis.

Esta campaña es iniciada por la familia y la hija menor de Maria, Aileen, con motivo de cubrir los costos funerarios de Maria, así como para cubrir todos los gastos médicos y personales que tuvo Maria en su lucha a lo largo del último año, además de cuidar del futuro de Aileen, quien solo tiene dieciséis anos y cuyo futuro esta siendo impactado por la perdida de su madre.
