Question: What is the biggest difference visitors to Corfu can make to the welfare of the stray cat colonies?

Answer: to help neutering programmes by making any donation.

November really is the best time of year for us to get out to the colonies to trap, steralise and release cats. There are a few reasons for this:

1. The cats are hungry so will come into the traps for food.

2. The females are less likely to be nursing young or pregnant.

3. Our volunteers have a little more time out of season.

4. It is still warm enough to support the cats to recover from the anaesthetic.

This fundraiser will make the biggest difference than helping individual cats. As much as this is necessary, helping individual cats does not resolve the root cause of the problem. We can't tackle this without your support.

It costs us around €50 for each cat we neuter.

Please support us to make a difference in November.

Many thanks

More information about Agni Animal Welfare Fund: We neuter and where necessary care for animals in poor circumstances, poor health, or those suffering from ill-treatment in the Prefecture of Corfu. Where possible we re-home animals but generally most are returned to whence they came once they are well and neutered. Volunteers keep an eye on them and see that they are fed during winter. We hope our actions will raise awareness of the benefits to local people of (1)controlling the reproduction of strays and (2)of a healthy, animal population.
