Hi everyone,

My name is Pierre-Luc Chenard and I’m starting this fundraiser for my best friend Steven Losier. Someone I’ve known and loved like a brother for over 20 years now.

Steven is the kind of person who never asks for help, no matter how bad things get. He doesn’t like to complain or burden anyone with his problems. But recently, he made a desperate post on Facebook — something completely out of character, and it broke my heart. That was the moment I knew he truly needed support, and I had to do something.

Back in October, Steven was diagnosed with encephalitis, a serious brain infection that caused swelling and left him with lasting brain damage. He’s now unable to work, and his sick EI benefits have run out. Despite his condition, he doesn’t qualify for social assistance — simply because amazing his wife, Mylène, is working.

Mylène has been putting in a lot of overtime at work to support their family of four. But even with all her strength and sacrifice, it’s still not enough. Bills are piling up, debt is growing, and they’re left without any help from our government. All because Steven was unlucky and got sick.

Steven is exhausted. He’s fighting daily battles with his health, his mental well-being, and the guilt of watching his wife carry so much on her shoulders. He’s also a really good dude and a great father to his kids. And right now he needs our help.

I know times are tough for everyone. But if you can spare anything, even just a few dollars. it would mean the world to me and them.

Every donation goes directly to helping them relieve some of the financial pressure they face while they figure out long-term options.
