Phil VanDyken

Phil VanDyken has been batting myelofibrosis, a rare blood cancer, for the last 6 years. In April 2022, Phil received a bone marrow transplant. Overtime, he handled his procedure very well and things were looking up!

Unfortunately, this past January 2023, he was hospitalized for a serious infection in his foot and diagnosed with Septic. Due to the transplant, Phil does not have a strong immune system. He was in ICU for a couple days then to progressive care. We hit an extremely low point when doctors told us his body was shutting down and that he was not going to make it because of the developed pneumonia, fluid in his lungs, and kidney failure. Thankfully because of our Glorious God and all of our prayer warriors, Phil is a walking miracle today. After recovering at Metro Hospital for about a month, Phil went straight to Marry Free Bed in Grand Rapids for some rehab to walk again, gain strength, and get back to doing his daily tasks!

Unfortunately, on March 22 he went back to the hospital for the same infection and septic. He was then in ICU for 3 days and then back to the transplant floor.

Once again, our Loving Father blessed Phil, leading him to another recovery and he is now back at Mary Free Bed! He is on his road to hopefully come home soon again.

It has been since Jan 27 that Phil has last been home. Phil is a truck driver and has been unable to work for over a year n half. Because of all this, Michele works part time but has not been able to work as she is the primary care giver for Phil. We have decide to create this go fund me, to help us with medical bills, gas, and all the equipment that we will need to get Phil walking and home soon again!

Michele and Phil’s daughter Maggie Mae have stood by him each and every step, but are ready to see Phil come home! It has been a long journey, but Phil and his family are extremely thankful and blessed for all the kindness, love, and prayers from each and everyone of you! Please kindly consider a donation.
