Our Story: Standing Strong in Saint Elizabeth After Hurricane Melissa
On October 27, 2025, Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica as a catastrophic Category 5 storm, with winds reaching 185 mph. Saint Elizabeth Parish was one of the hardest-hit areas, left underwater from massive flooding and battered by winds that destroyed homes, schools, and farms. Families here have lost everything—shelter, food, clean water, and the sense of safety they once had.
In the days since, we have come together as neighbors to help one another survive. So far, we have been donating food and drinks to families who have nothing left. But the need is overwhelming. Entire communities remain cut off, and many people are still waiting for help to reach them.
Why We Need Your Help
• Basic survival supplies: Food, clean drinking water, and hygiene products are urgently needed.
• Rebuilding lives: Many homes and farms in Saint Elizabeth have been destroyed. Families need materials to repair roofs, walls, and essential structures.
• Supporting the vulnerable: Children, the elderly, and those with medical needs are especially at risk in these conditions.
