My name is Dawn Cannon. I am the Front End Manager of MSGP at United Against Poverty in Vero Beach. On February 26th, our home was devastated by a fire, and we lost everything. For the past five years, my husband and I, along with our adult son who is non-verbal and autistic, have made this house our home. We also have the privilege of caring for our 12-year-old granddaughter and our 8-year-old grandson, who now have no place to call home.
The fire has left us with nothing, and the emotional toll it has taken on our family is immeasurable. The children are especially struggling with the sudden upheaval of their lives and the loss of our pets, a cat and a dog. Our hearts are broken, but we are determined to rebuild and find a way forward.
We are asking for your support to help us get back on our feet. The funds will be used to cover the immediate needs of our family, such as:
*Temporary housing for all five of us.
*Basic living essentials as we work through this difficult time.
*Rebuilding a safe and stable home environment for our son, granddaughter, and grandson.
*Special resources and equipment that will help care for our non-verbal, autistic son during this transition.
We know this is a tough time for everyone, but if you can find it in your heart to help, it would mean the world to us. Your donation, no matter how small, will go directly to helping us start over and rebuild our lives.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity during this incredibly difficult time. We are truly grateful for any support you can offer.
