Hi everyone. As many of you already know, we were blessed with our second baby boy, Arlo Felix on June 18th, 2024 at 12:56pm weighing in at a whopping 8 pounds 15 ounces. Just like with our first boy Maverick, it was love at first sight for us. We still can't believe that we are blessed with 2 perfect boys. What you might not know is that Arlo has a rare congenital heart defect (CHD) called Double Inlet Left Ventricle or DILV. This specific defect occurs in every 5-10 of 300,000 live births. We found out about his defect at our 20 week anatomy scan and have been working with a wonderful team at Banner to get him ready for where we are now in his journey to recovery. On June 23rd, he was airlifted to Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego to get ready for his first of 3 open heart surgeries. He is such a fighter and everyone who meets him instantly falls in love with him.
As you may have guessed, this journey has come with a huge set of medical/travel expenses. While this is something that we are incredibly uncomfortable doing, many people have asked where they can donate to help our family.
As we sit here writing this, we are thinking about all of the incredible people we have in our lives and how much we love all of you and how thankful we are to have such an incredible village wrapping their arms and hearts around us during this time.
