Support Austin's Battle Against Leukemia
Donation protected
Hey everyone,
My name's Austin Chinsky and I’m a senior at Seton Hall University as well as a member of Alpha Chi Rho. I’m also a volunteer with the sound ministry worship team at Calvary Chapel Morris Hills.
A few weeks ago, I was hospitalized for severe leg pain that wouldn’t go away—even with heavy doses of Tylenol and Advil. I initially thought it was a sports injury, but an MRI revealed that my legs were fine and something else was attacking the bone marrow throughout my entire body.
Shortly after, I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL)—a serious but highly treatable cancer.
Thankfully, it’s been all good news since then. I’ve been responding well to treatment, and I was discharged from the hospital just two weeks after diagnosis. While I’m grateful for these blessings, my fight isn’t over yet.
Over the next three years, I’ll be undergoing treatments, checkups, and maintenance therapy at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Even though the most intensive phase is happening now, I still have many hospital visits, medical expenses, and lifestyle adjustments ahead—especially while balancing my final year in college.
What Your Support Will Help With
I’m setting up this GoFundMe to help cover:
• Commuting costs for frequent hospital visits to Manhattan (especially in these first few months)
• Specialized nutrition & supplements to support my body through treatment
• Medical supplies like PICC line sleeves, pain relievers, KN95 masks, and other essentials
• Miscellaneous health & recovery expenses that add up over time
Why This Amount?
I’ve kept this goal modest and reasonable, focusing on the biggest financial burdens over the next few years. While I’m fortunate to have support in other areas, these costs are still significant, and every contribution will make a real difference in easing the financial strain.
Additionally, I want to assure you that any donations not used for my direct medical expenses and related costs will be donated to The Gift of Life foundation working with my fraternity, so your generosity will continue to help others in need.
If you’re able to donate, thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you can’t donate, sharing this campaign is just as valuable. I truly appreciate any support—big or small.
God bless you all, and thank you for being a part of my journey.
