Julie Williams
On behalf of Alex Nagle
Julie passed away on 9th April 2025, following her diagnosis not only of MND but also cancer. She was taken too soon and she will be missed by her friends and colleagues some of whom she had worked for, for many years.
Julie loved working for VIVID and she was a strong advocate for our customers, showing care and compassion on a daily basis.
She was a well-loved, well respected team leader and passionately supported her team. Sharing her knowledge and experience which enabled many of her team to flourish and develop their careers. We were all devasted to hear about her MND diagnosis last year and the blog that she bravely published to tell everyone about the illness and how it was impacting her, moved us all.
I have many memories of Julie and the visits and challenges we faced together. No more so than the terrible fire at Oakridge, when we spent the bank holiday weekend together supporting customers who had to leave their homes. As ever, she gave that help with calmness and care – with a bit of humour thrown in when it was needed.
I talked to Julie a couple of months ago about this walking challenge that I am doing and that I would like to raise some money for MND. After speaking to her son Chris, he is very happy that I now do the walk in memory of Julie and for any funds raised to go to St Michaels Hospice in Basingstoke, where Julie spent her final days. The care that she received there, along with support from the MND nurses was incredible.
So if you can spare a few pounds – I will be taking on the challenge of walking half way round the Isle of Wight on Saturday 3rd May. Its 52 km which is about 32.3 miles!
