The Pneumask organization is currently deploying masks with adaptors to front line users free of charge with the only requirement that the mask be returned after it is no longer needed. If your application with them is denied or if you need other help we are still able to help provide advice, technical help, STL files, masks, adaptors, and filters.
We were given 200 Pneumasks to deploy here in Miami. University of Miami was given 1000 Pneumasks with our help!
Many doctors and healthcare workers across the country are facing having to head to their hospital each day or night to battle COVID19 defenseless. While many of us are doing our best by staying home, is there more that we can do? You can help our doctors, nurses, fire fighters, EMTs, poolice officers and other healthcare workers fight! My name is Dr. Roberto Miki and I have designed a number of adaptors that give healthcare workers another option for protection. I posted these for free on our website www.mikiandalfonso.com because I wanted to make sure that healthcare professionals could create these masks for themselves. Although these adaptors have not been FDA approved, minutes after I uploaded a video to YouTube showing how to construct these masks, healthcare workers all over the country began emailing and calling me for the 3D design plans.
"Please send me an adaptor. I have been using the same PPE for weeks. It's falling apart"
"I don't feel safe with what I'm using. It doesn't fit well and the hospitals are running out. Can you send me an adaptor?"
"I want my whole face covered, a full face mask, since this virus is airborne. With the glasses or face shield, I just don't feel protected."
Many told me how desperate they were for something they could feel safe in, something other than a N95 that they had to use over and over again, that was falling apart and being held together by staples. Even though I uploaded the 3D design files for the adaptors, many healthcare professionals told me that they did not have a way to print the adaptor or if they contacted a 3D printing company to print one for them the wait times were too long.
We have created this GoFundMe page to ask everyone to help us fill this need. Help me and my team send adaptors and filters to those healthcare professionals who need them. Medical students at Florida International University are also helping on this project with the delivery of these adaptor/filter sets.
We are asking you to help us by funding this project. A donation of just $10 will allow us to print an adapter for one of our heroes. A donation of $3 to $6 will allow us to send a filter/s as well. For healthcare professionals that are local to Miami once the mask, adaptor and filter are ready, they can be picked up locally. A donation of $8 allows us to pay shipping costs send an adaptor and a filter to healthcare professionals outside of Miami. A donation of $13 allows us to pay shipping costs to send a mask, adaptor and filter. A donation of $39 allows to obtain a HJKB mask. A donation of $35 allows us to obtain a Dolfino mask. A donation of $20 to$29 allows us to obtain an Animdive mask. We have distributed over 105 masks. We currently have a supply of 120 masks.
We are asking healthcare workers, fire fighters, EMTs, and police officers who want a mask, adaptor and/or filters to email their photo, their hospital, their address and the type of mask they have ordered to [email redacted]. Our goal is to distribute 1,000 masks, adaptors and filters to hospitals and healthcare workers locally in Miami and to those who email us from around the nation. If we surpass our goal, we will continue to make more adaptors and send adaptors and filters out to hospitals and healthcare workers requesting them.
We will post photos of the heroes your donations have gotten adaptors and filters to on this page so please check back regularly to see who you have helped protect in their fight to save others.
Our masks should not replace existing certified PPE if present. The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JHACO) recently released a statement that supports allowing healthcare workers to bring their own standard face masks or respirators if adequate PPE is unavailable.

MASKS:
There are three types of mask that we are able to provide adpators for. Please send us a photo of the mask you ordered so we can make sure that we get you the correct adaptor for the filter. We recommend large size masks for all adults (there are measurement guides on most of the Amazon links). We are actively working on other models and adaptors (Weird Tails and Cressi).

Advantage: Found on Amazon. More comfortable for longer periods of time. Disadvantage: If using a hood you must punch a hole on top of the hood. Needs teflon tape for perfect fit. Cannot be autoclaved.
2. Dolfino Frontier- Snorkel/filter on top. Advantage: Found at Walmart. More comfortable for longer periods of time. Disadvantage: Must punch a hole in hood if using with a hole.
3. HJKB- Snorkel/filter on front. Advantage: It can be used with a hood without having to punch a hole. Disadvantage: Not as comfortable for long periods of time

FILTERS:
We will try to send the number of filters requested but the number will depend on our supply.
Hospitals sometimes will provide filters. Most manufacturers recommend changing it after 24 hours of use on a ventilator. You may be able to extend the life of the filter up to 2 weeks. If you enter a COVID-19 designated area, many people are throwing the filter out after they leave the ward. Others are just cleaning the outside of the filter.

When removing the mask, first, wipe or spray the edges of the mask. Remember to let the mask FALL FORWARD. Do not pull it over your head because you are contaminating your face when you remove it this way.
