Dale will be in the hospital for some time. Let's give to this sweet family to help alleviate some of the financial burden of the medical expenses and travel costs. Please see below a recent update from Cindy (posted with her permission):

Update from Cindy, Aug 14: They just took Dale back for surgery to remove part of his skull because his brain is swelling.

Update from Sarah, Aug 13: Monday, my dad went to the hospital. When he got there, they determined that he had sepsis. They began treating that and got him stable. Later that afternoon/evening, we were notified that he had thrown a blood clot to his brain and had a stroke. They life-flighted him to OHSU and did an emergency surgery to remove the clot. The surgery was successful. He is now in the Neuro ICU trying to recover. He is stable and doing okay, but he still has a long journey ahead of him. He's starting to be able to make little sentences today, but he's still pretty out of it. The right side of his body is very responsive, but the left is not doing as well. Right now, his brain is continuing to swell a little bit. They do need that to start going down soon, or they may have to do surgery.

My mom, my sister, Tyler, and I are in Oregon with him at the hospital. We are spending our days in the waiting room, taking turns going to see him, and we will be staying in a hotel in the evening as we are not allowed to stay with him overnight.
