Savannah's Miracle Fund

Donation protected

Savannah started her life a fighter.  She was born with Down Syndrome 19 years ago to my best friends, Steve and Darla Svenson.  They parked their travel tralier in the hospital parking lot in San Diego for months on end, to ensure Savannah received the immediate care she needed.  After just a few months, our tiny. fragile little girl underwent what would be her first of several open heart surgeries.  Just a tiny baby and yet so strong!

Savannah graduated from high school last June and has grown into a beautiful and bountiful young lady who played basketball for her high school, cheered for her high school and attended her Sr. Prom with her longtime friend, Brian Barrett.  Savannah has also been cheering competively for many years with the Colorado Suns, just one of only two special needs teams in Colorado.  We are very proud of her!  You may remember just weeks ago, April 1st, I was bragging on social media about Savannah and her Colorado Suns winning the National Cheerleading compeition in Washington DC.  The trophy was bigger than Savannah! Her team is now training for the World Competition taking place at Walt Disney World in Florida starting on April 23.

Today, we learned Savannah's dream of going to World's was crushed and her team will have to fight for a win without her on the mat this time.  Savannah fell ill and was hospitalized with pneumonia on Tuesday.  After running routine blood work, our sweet Savannah was diagnosed with B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.  She started treatments today, April 14, and will be hospitalized for at least the next 5 weeks.  Savannah may miss her World Competition, but with positivity, faith, strength, courage and determination there's no way she's missing her big sister's wedding August 14th!

With the support of all their friends and family by their side, we are asking for any gift you can give to help Savannah fight the fight of her life and help get this family through the financial and emotional ride of their lives.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
