Help for Lebanon

Sarvam Yoga Studio Needs Your Help! 

The people of Lebanon experienced a great tragedy during the already incredibly difficult time in the world for all.  Residents of Beirut are surveying the damage Wednesday after a massive explosion rocked the Lebanese capital, killing at least 135 people, wounding thousands and causing widespread damage.  So many small art businesses were destroyed in the explosion and have little hope of recovering on their own.  It is much harder for aid to reach these businesses.

Sarvam Yoga Studio is a small studio that has been described as one of the most beautiful yoga studios ever seen and "many people's heaven in Beruit".  Hala Okeili, the  founder and owner, was already suffering financially due to the Covid crisis,  and when she explosion occurred, it wasn't only the studio that collapsed.  Her home also burned to ashes, and her husband it currently in the hospital.  Hala needs a miracle right now, so we are coming together and asking you for help to give her some hope during this challenging time.  

(You might be asking who we are and what is our connection to Sarvam Yoga Studio before donating.  We are a team of documentary filmmakers from across the globe, creating a project about Covid-19 in over 22 countries with the International Youth Media Summit organization.  One of our amazingly talented team members is Rola Shamas, a filmmaker based in Lebanon.  We were on a summit call with her when the the explosion occurred, and we asked her how best we could help her and her community.  The first thing she said was the yoga studio would need help it may not be able to receive otherwise, so that's why we are are doing this.)

This money will be spent to help rebuild the studio from the ground up and to purchase items like new mats and cushions.  The money will be sent directly to Hala, so she can purchase the items she needs for the rebuild and to buy items to create the peaceful vibe the studio once had.
