Hi I’m Molly, a 27 year old Welsh bibliophile
I was diagnosed with endometriosis and adenomyosis in 2017. Since then I have had 4 medically induced menopause’s, 3
operations, countless hormonal treatments, endless scans, A and E
visits and hospital admissions. This included having to have my appendix removed on Christmas Eve as it had become infiltrated with endo tissue. I also had to take a year out of university as I spent the best part of 4 months in hospital
I am now currently at the stage where I am bed bound and using opiates to function. Which at 27 is not how I should
be living my life, I should be out making fun memories and taking advantage of every opportunity
Although endometriosis is in the NHS top 10 most painful conditions. There is currently only 2 endometriosis specialists in Wales only 1 of whom works in the NHS. A referral was recently put in for me to see an endometriosis specialist due to the severity and complexity of
my case but this was rejected as I was in a different health board.
This leads me to this moment now. I hate making a fuss and having to rely on others but I desperately want real treatment so I can get back to being my goofy and fun loving self. Having exhausted all other options my only route
for this now is private surgery which I unfortunately do not have the funds for
I appreciate we are in a cost of living crisis so even a tiny donation will help.
But a share is just as valuable as
cash
Please help me to start thriving and not just surviving. Love and cwtches to you all
