MYTH: The Movie (Short Film)

Donation protected
From the fantastic mind of Vincenzo Carroll comes a familiar kind of story. A slice of life with a magical twist! Introducing MYTH, Vincenzo's first fully-produced screenplay, directed by Brielle Carroll. This is a tale of epic proportions, all contained within 15 minutes of pure madness. A long-time passion project, MYTH is a mature mythological fantasy with dark comedic elements and a lot of heart!

Top Half - Left to Right: Melissa Shawcross ("Fire Elemental"), Vincent Taylor ("Walter Grant"), Taymar Walters (Associate Producer), Owen Kane ("Leprechaun"), Malik Musa ("Teen Wolf), Jordan Rhode ("News Anchor"), Andy Sydor ("Big G"), Phil Kramer ("Michael Christ"), Liz Burdick ("Fairy Godmother"), Jane Kotlyar ("Wicked Witch")

Bottom Half - Left to Right: Vincenzo Carroll (Writer), Brielle Carroll (Director), Kamrin Dorsey (Producer)

Our Story - A Day in the Life of Michael Christ!

Years after the apocalypse, the Earth has been rebuilt and peace has been restored. Ever since angels and demons were forced to reside on Earth, being that their realms were destroyed, mythical creatures and deities finally felt safe enough to come out into the open. Beings that were once the stuff of legends are now law-abiding citizens, with jobs and 401K's. Dr. Frankenstein has a talk show, mermaids compete on American Idol, leprechauns are robbed daily and Jesus has his own winery.

In a world where humans are becoming more and more obsolete, Michael Christ - our lead and in no way related to Jesus Christ - struggles to find a job that will hire him. But by a stroke of dumb luck, he gets a job working for Heaven's Gate Incorporated, an angel-run company that solves myth issues and myth relations. Michael eventually has a run in with the Big G himself - God! Don't expect this guy to be the vengeful deity we all know and fear from the bible. These days, he's getting high off his own supply (Angel Dust)! Hilarity ensues as the two enjoy a wild night out of debauchery and drug-fueled madness.

Funds needed for production.

As undergraduates in the Fairleigh Dickinson University film program, MYTH is a massive undertaking for us. The film is only 15 minutes; but production costs will be great. Except for an Arri Alexa and lighting rigs, there is no school budget for student film budgets.

Your generous donation will go towards the budget of the film, which we estimate will be no less than $5k. The funds will be used to buy prosthetics for the creatures, pay for on-location shoots, pay for actors' travel expenses, and feed our hardworking crew members. We also need a music composer to score this picture. All costs go towards the completion of the film.

How far along is production?

We are currently shooting the film. Principal Photography is slated to end in early April and premiere on April 28th at the Morristown Museum.

How will my support be shown?

No matter how much you donate, your name will appear in the film's ending credits, along with the crew members and actors. This way, you will always be remembered for making all of this possible. We'll even give a special shout-out in promotional materials and at festivals to the top 15 donors. You will always have our gratitude.

Why should you support us?

I think this film has a very important message, especially for the younger generation. We have all been in Michael’s position. Feeling useless. Just living life as it comes and goes.  Like the myths, we too are trying to integrate ourselves into society.

It is our dream to have MYTH seen by as many eyes as possible. It's a story that could just as easily translate to a TV series.

What else can you do to help?

Spread the word! Tell your friends and family! Tell your co-workers! We would greatly appreciate a donation, but if you cannot give at this time, please share this page. You can share it on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. All support is recognized.
