Mystic Yoga Shala Steamer

I've been practicing yoga for over a decade and can honestly say I've never found a studio that feels as much like home as the Mystic Yoga Shala. Our studio is a real yoga school, increasing students' understanding of anatomy and the physiology of yoga while fostering connections between students in our community through our focus on inclusivity and empathy. We care about and respect all of our students, whether it's their first or five hundredth time on the mat.

At the Mystic Yoga Shala, we are passionate about delivering our students an experience of their own vitality so that they can be stronger individuals -- physically, mentally, and spiritually. The use of heat in our studio makes our classes uniquely rigorous.

When my mom brought me to my first heated yoga class at the Mystic Shala in high school, I couldn't wait to leave the room. Eventually, I realized that the physical challenge of focusing on my breath while holding yoga poses in the heated environment and allowing myself to feel the sensations rise in my body (instead of running out the door!) not only made me a stronger yogi, but increased my mental stamina outside the studio, too. Eventually, I undertook a vigorous teacher training program that Dechen, owner of the Shala, recommended. I joined the Shala staff, and now guide others through a Baptiste-inspired practice several times a week.

Today, I'm a completely different person because of hot yoga at the Mystic Yoga Shala and the opportunity it gives me to show up and persevere, despite conditions being strenuous or difficult. I know I'm not alone in this experience of transformation.

Our studio offers up to five classes a day, which means our steamer runs up to five hours daily. The household-sized units we have used in the past have been unreliable, and the last kicked the bucket several months ago. We've tried different methods to fix it, to no avail. After many hours of online research and phone calls to professionals, we've decided it's time to upgrade to a larger, commercial unit.

Unlike the temperamental household units we've used in the past, our new commercial steamer will be reliable, low-maintenance, and high-performing because it is designed to function for long hours in a sizable space. It will easily push billowing clouds of steam into our entire studio, restoring the intense, high-quality experiences we all enjoy.

The cost of this steamer is substantial, particularly for a small, community-based studio. But it is a purchase vital to the continuation of the Mystic Yoga Shala and its ability to empower students and guide them through their personal discovery of a sense of well-being, health, and vitality that enhances all aspects of their lives.
