Shevill Daniel-Bell—wife, mother, daughter, sister, auntie, friend, an amazing person and a blessing to all who know her. 

September 9, 2014, her strength, beauty and faith shined more than ever when an unexpected, life-changing moment occurred. Shevill was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme (GBM)—an aggressive form of brain cancer. According to the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, GBM has an incidence of two to three per 100,000 adults per year, and accounts for 52 percent of all brain tumors. 


Since that day, Shevill has pushed through and has been our light of inspiration, as her life reflects a story of strength, faith and survival . SHE is our SHERO—to her husband of 23 years, to her 22 year-old twins, to her parents, to her 8 siblings, to her 8 nieces and nephews, to her extended family and many friends—SHE stands with courage, grace and laughter, while facing a challenging life journey.




After the diagnosis, Shevill began a successful course of radiation and chemotherapy, though it was interrupted due to a low plattlette count caused by a seizure (a side effect of GBM) . She has been without treatment for almost seven months and during that time, experienced shrinkage of her tumor and a significant amount of progress. She continues to be cared for and supported by her spouse daily—who many call, "the husband of the year." Together, they form an amazing power couple.
 

May 21, 2015, Shevill began treatment again, which is vital to battle her diagnosis. Treatment, medication and care expenses are costly and continue to increase since life transitioned for her family in September of 2014. We ask for prayers, love and financial support for this beautiful, strong SHERO. Any and all support is gratefully appreciated more than any of you will know.  No matter how small or large, her life will forever be changed by it. 

While Shevill continues to be our SHERO in her fight, her story is universal and may hit home for many others that may have experienced the effects of cancer.  Let this campaign not only be a campaign of hope, but also a campaign of awareness as we honor our SHERO.
