My Shave for Taryn

In February this year, my mum Taryn was diagnosed with cancer. It took quite a few months of invasive tests to discover that she has a particularly aggressive type of cancer - pancreatic cancer. We have received support from medical professionals, not for profit organisations and charities, family, acquaintences and lots and lots of friends.

Recently, hair loss has become another awful side effect that Taryn has had to deal with. She always told me that every person should shave their head at some point in their lives purely for the experience. Now, I will be shaving my head - in exactly two weeks time - but for Taryn, not just the experience. She is currently looking good and feeling a bit better than she has at times, but pancreatic cancer is pancreatic cancer.

If there is ever anything I can do that will assist my mum in her treatment, in her care, in her comfort or in her happiness, I would like to have the funds to do so. I will be donating whatever money is left over to the services and charities that have been particularly wonderful in helping us. Any donation, however big or small, will make a big difference to my mum, to me and to the gracious services that have helped and continue to help us.
