Hi everyone,
I'm reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for support for my sweet cat, Myrna.
Myrna first appeared at my house a couple of months ago. She quickly made herself comfortable and made herself at home in my front yard. I assumed she was a stray and decided to adopt her after about a month of her visiting. At her initial vet appointment, the vet scanned her, and we discovered that she has a registered owner. I got in touch with her owners and sadly dropped her off with them the same day. I expected to never see her again, but she continued to show up at my house for a few days after I dropped her off.
Myrna stopped coming by my house for about a week, and I assumed her owners brought her inside. She then appeared again two weeks ago, looking malnourished with a severe limp. Concerned, I contacted her owners, but they didn't seem concerned about her condition and refused to take her to a vet. After about a week, I decided I couldn't bear to see her suffer any longer and asked her owners if they would transfer ownership of Myrna to me. They agreed she would be better off in my care. I quickly scheduled her a vet visit to have her leg checked.
After a vet visit and X-rays, we received some devastating news: she has a mass near her right knee that has damaged the joint and surrounding bone. The imaging strongly suggests cancer, possibly a soft tissue sarcoma or synovial cell sarcoma.
To know exactly what we're dealing with and what treatment might help her, she urgently needs:
• Chest X-rays to see if the cancer has spread,
• A needle biopsy to determine what type of mass it is,
• Possible surgery, medication, or palliative care depending on results.
These tests are crucial but expensive, and estimates range from $600 to $1,400, not including any treatment that may follow. I want to do everything I can to keep Myrna comfortable and give her a fighting chance, but the costs are more than I can manage on my own.
Any donation, large or small, will help Myrna immensely. Every dollar will go directly toward Myrna's diagnostics and ongoing care. Even if you're not able to give, sharing this page would be a huge help.
Every bit of help means the world to me ♥️
