Myrna's Birthday Wish

Hi, my name is Chelsea. I am the daughter of Myrna Prado.

Many of you know the story behind my mom's condition, but if you don't here's a little back story. My mom suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns from a house fire back in 2010 and suffers from PTSD and depression. She was also diagnosed with early stage dementia about 5 years ago. Recently, her dementia has been progressing in which she has been forgetting names of family members (sometimes even my own name) or does not recognize them at all. She also has difficulty expressing her thoughts as she immediately forgets while trying to say it out loud. Despite all that she has gone through this past 10+ years, my mom continues to stay strong and keep a smile on her face.

This year 2023, my mom will be celebrating her 75th Birthday in May. Her only wish these past few years has been to visit the Philippines. We attempted to go in March 2020, but was cancelled due to COVID. While my mom is still somewhat cognitively and physically able to travel, I hope to make her biggest WISH come true. If we're able to make this trip happen, not only will my mom be able to celebrate her 75th birthday, but she will be able to reunite with all her siblings (all 5 siblings have not been together in one place for more than 25+ years).

Due to the economic inflation, it has made it difficult for me to financially fund this trip on my own. I am hoping with the help of family, friends, and others, that we can raise the money to be able to make Myrna's wish come true and to celebrate her 75th Birthday.
