Myrna Chapman Memorial Services

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Paul Chapman and I lost my mother on May 28th and my job on May 27 after getting the call from hospice that she probably wouldn’t make it through the week on May 26th. This made it pretty much impossible on me to work as I was her only son raised solely by her with no father.  My mother Myrna Chapman lost a long battle with cancer. She had been in and out of hospitals for many years now, and at least she is finally no longer in pain.

I am her only child and most of her family has already passed on. Myrna had not been doing well for several years and was not working for a long time either so she was unable to maintain life insurance. At the end she was in so much pain it was hard to watch as even with so much medication she would often cry when trying to do the simplest of tasks like walking from one room to the next.

After speaking with the funeral home they want a minimum cost of over $3000 to cremate her and hold a small memorial service in her honor. My family and I are asking for help in the forms of donations so that we can get this done. At this cost that wouldn’t even cover an urn so that is the reason we are trying to get a bit higher than that so that we can at least bring her home until we can afford the costs of the Cemetery that her sister had been in since 1994. Any and all donations would be greatly appreciated so that we can try to make our goal in order to bring my mother home.

The funeral home will not work with DHS as they state it takes too long to get any money out of them, additionally my family is very small outside of myself and Myrna’s grandchildren. This is a very hard time for us and it would make it a lot easier on the children and I if we could get this taken care of and then begin to heal. The funeral home will not release the ashes until payment is made in full and as I stated I simply do not have the means at the moment to handle this expense.

Myrna was a great woman that always tried to help others even when she was sick and I am hoping that spirit will return the favor too her as I know that she would not want any additional burden placed on us. Myrna was always the first person to personally sacrifice in order to make sure that others were taken care of.

Myrna is survived by her son Paul Chapman, Granddaughter Madyson Chapman age 10, Granddaughter Allyson Chapman age 9 and Grandson Paul Chapman Jr. age 3. I know that more than anything she would want whatever is best for all of us and bringing her home would be the best start. Again any amount that you can give will help to make this happen and help our family at probably the worst time we have been through.

Thank you in advance to everyone for any help you can provide.
