Our family asks you to include my mother Myriam in your prayers, but many have asked how to contribute. Funds raised will go towards medical cost and general support for her fight towards cancer.
My mother came to visit for the holidays and traveled here from South America. A week before she arrived she had mentioned that she hadn’t been feeling to well and she couldn’t eat much. She first we thought it could have been food poisoning or some type of virus she could have gotten in Paraguay. Once the holidays passed we were finally able to get appointments for her to see the doctors. They did multiple studies to see what could be the cause of her not feeling well. Referral after referral , weeks after weeks , things were getting worse and frustrating, she continuously started to just get worse losing so much weight that she needed to just go to the emergency room. The doctors did a scan and suspected she had cancer and needed to be seen at the cancer center ASAP. We took her the next day, and they did another scan and confirmed, she’s has stage 4 cancer. We couldn’t immediately move forward with treatment due to the fact she not only test positive for COVID and had to isolated her Calcium levels were extremely high.
You’d think to yourself…stage 4? how and why? My mom is the strongest person I know. She was in Paraguay taking care of my grandmother who was also diagnosed with cancer and without even knowing she also had it. Any symptoms she had she pushed aside because she was putting her mother first. My mother is a women who will always help a friend, family member when she can or will find a way to help. She’s a person who will never want anything in return for it or ever ask for help either, she will find a way!
Her and I looked at each other with this news , and me knowing how strong SHE is I didn’t want to show her any tear or worry or make her feel any worse than what she had been feeling. At that moment, I knew I had to act strong and knew right away I had to keep my composure and do whatever we needed to do to start her journey to kick Cancer’s ass ASAP.
Unfortunately I’m the middle all this we learned that instead of my brother being stationed in Korea my brother was deployed to Germany because of the unfortunate situation near by. Our support system had shrunk. As of now I am all that she has here besides my amazing step father Bachi.
We have a long journey ahead of treatments and surgery that will help my mom beat cancer but all I ask is for help any support you can give to help alleviate any financial stress on my step father Bachi and myself. And I ask you to keep my mother in your prayers as she takes on this battle of her life. Thank you to all in advance for your help you truly don’t know how much our family appreciates it.
