Improving cancer drug therapies

The Myonco Foundation: Help us to improve the treatment of patients with 'rare and deadly tumours'

We are raising funds to develop improved drug delivery products that will:
1 - boost the effect of established drugs in dealing with solid tumors.
2- reduce the disabling side-effects of Chemo
3 - keep it accessible and affordable for all

For every Dollar or Euro we raise, we have the same or up to double that coming from NGO's and government support in top-notch research groups and clinincs. We have the technology proven and ready to go, we now need to focus it on selected rare tumour diseases with lower survival chances.

"Why?"

Two years ago my father was diagnosed with GlioBlastoma Multiforma, a very aggressive form of brain tumour. He passed away within 5 months. The final stage was absolutely aweful, the months before gruesome and occupied by side-effects spiralling out of control, hospitals, doctors... It was moving from one crisis on to the next, and we were always one step behind.
Sadly, there is more.
My co-founder in my first drug delivery company Branching Tree succumbed to a multiple myeloma.  An uncle and a nephew died of incurable prostate cancer, and another nephew just passed away on a rare but again lethal adreno-cortical gland cancer.
Nevertheless, there are some family members and friends who pulled through, despite the ordeal of the side-effects of the treatments... without it, they would have been lost.
From my age-bracket on (born 1960) most of us know someone close to us with a stagnent or a progressing cancer... And we all wish there is something we can do!

Now the good news: there is something you and I can do, right now, to improve the outcome of treatment and of the quality of life
for the many patients and their families...

- I have started The Myonco Foundation, using my proven drug delivery technology, my experience and my networks in pharma product development.
- You can support this program by donating here at GoFundMe, or directly via the website : www.myonco.org . You can find more info and more background at the website, and go there for direct donations (it is a SSL-secured site).

My name is Mike G.W. de Leeuw. I am a tumour virologist with a business degree, and I spent most of my life setting-up and accelerating technology- and life-sciences businesses www.linkedin.com/in/mikedeleeuw .

The Myonco Foundation,  is a not-for-profit foundation that will fund projects to improve the outcome of treatment, and to reduce the very disabling effects of the so-called 'rare and deadly tumour diseases': GlioBlastoma Multiforma - Pancreatic Cancer - Adrenal-Cortoid Gland tumour (see www.myonco.org/targets)

We fund and facilitate product development by experienced partners to improve the outcome of the treatment, and to improve the quality of life for these patients and their loved ones. We also make sure that our sponsored products stay affordable and accessible to all. From there on we hope to expand the initiative and the products into other forms of cancer.

The target is simple as it is eloquent: localized and slow release of well known drugs, in and around the tumour or the relevant lymphe nodes, instead of loading your whole body up with multiple toxic chemicals... Localize it - Reduce it.

As we can now localize these drugs and slowly release them from the injectable depot, we:
i) increase the local drug levels in the tumour,
ii) reduce the total amounts needed, and avoid or reduce serious side-effects throughout the body... and
iii) deliver the therapy at much lower total cost of care and at much lower product costs than any biotech product out there.

"Just do it" some would say, and rightfully so...

... but I cannot do it alone, so please help and support me to get this started. I am committing my exclusive licenses on the InGell technology, but we need to kick start the process with cash.
Any amount helps, and the moral support is priceless!

We aim to raise the first 500,000 US$ from different sources within the coming 6 months, and we will start the first project once we have received the first 50,000 US$: prototype development and testing these, aimed at dealing with GlioBlastoma.
Can we start with so little?

"Yes we can: Just do It!" I have arranged matched funding from regional investors, committed NGO's and top-notch academic clinics standing ready. Once we are over 500,000 US$, we will start additional campaigns for each new project: Pancreatic cancer, incurable Prostate cancer...

Neurologists, radiologists, specialized surgeons, oncologists, tumour-researchers; all of them are enthusiastic to use and help develop our local drug depot , because it is a straight forward approach using well known generic drugs instead of new expensive ones.
The Dutch Cancer Society, an Irish NGO and several Dutch and Irish clinics are ready to support the projects with experience, facilities and matching funds .
The benefits of the InGell-depots have been clearly demonstrated in early stage developments for diseases such as Type-2 Diabetes, Osteo Arthritis, Lower Back Pain and Cervical cancer.

If you see ways of starting-up activities to support or improve the Myonco-campaign, I will be most happy to connect with your initiatives; by all means!  You can contact us at [email redacted].

One day, I am sure we can look back and conclude that we did something good, radicle and sustainable in dealing with the 'rare and deadly tumour' diseases.

Some words of caution though: we, the people that prepare, collaborate and execute these projects, today do not envision, suggest or indicate a partial or a complete cure with our approach to these very aggressive tumour diseases.  Combinations with other drugs, surgery and radiation remain necessary.
First and foremost we aim to i) improve the outcome of the treatment to prolong life, ii) to improve the quality of a patients' life, and iii) to keep these solutions accessible and affordable for all patients.  That would already be major progress for all involved.

I am pledging 'Yin Yang Profit' structures for the projects that receive donations and support from the Foundation (see www.myonco.org).
I have launched this alternative business model in a book and proposal by KWF (Dutch Cancer Society) to the Dutch Minister of Healthcare 1st December 2016.

Finally, the price of these products and their use in the clinic will range from several hundred dollars to 'only' a few thousand dollars, instead of ten's of thousands or even worse...
