Myocycle FES Bike for at home rehabilitation
Donation protected
Hey Anchors!
Everyone has been so generous and supportive of my journey thus far.
I appreciate it more than I could ever explain.
In this season of giving, I am asking for help. Something I was never good at doing.
I’m looking for help to purchase an electrical stimulation bike like the one I use at therapy. Insurance has denied this twice already because the data isn’t showing success for Walking. However, Research has shown that FES cycling gives people with paralysis all the same benefits of regular, able-bodied cycling, like improved cardiovascular health, more muscle mass and stfrength, better bone density, and even improved self-image and social abilities. FES cycling also has some unique benefits for people with paralysis like fewer muscle spasms and much fewer pressure sores.
My time at therapy won’t last forever. And you all know how much I love working hard and getting stronger. When I use the bike at therapy it takes away from more important exercises I could be working on with my incredible physical therapist. If I could use the bike at home it would allow me to get the necessary stretching and strength training at therapy and the benefits of the bike at home.
The cost of the bike is $8,000. Any amount donated will help make this bike a reality for me. Courtney and I are not able to return to our jobs at this time, so any amount helps. If you aren’t able to donate, please share this link and continue your prayers for me and my family.
The go fund me page has a link to the bike if you would like to check it out.
Thank you Anchors!!
