UPDATE 2/28/25: Mylo's progress and recovery has been absolutely amazing. He got flying colors with his check up today. He is out of the amputation needed realm! He is now on just standard recovery and watching further progress. Thank you again to everyone that contributed. The help that was given allowed it to be more manageable even without the amputation surgery. He still has to have a dental surgery and then I have my own surgery next month. The strain is definitely much lighter! It's only up from here :)

UPDATE 2/3/25: Mylo is adjusting well to being in a crate most of the time. I got him a new one that fits a litterbox, feeder, bed, and water bowl. He is starting to walk better overall however I can’t tell if that his leg improving or just the overall bruising and swelling from the trauma letting up. He still doesn’t seem to have much feeling on his one leg. Definitely going to take a long time (weeks to months if we decide to go even longer) for real signs to show, so updates might slow down in the mean time. In the meantime, have a cute picture.

UPDATE 1/31/25: We just got done talking to the Neuro doctor. She believe the Sciatic nerve has been uprooted. Unfortunately more imagery like an MRI will not help them since she does not believe they will find much else. The symptoms he is showing are pretty clear.
She is suggesting however we give him 2-4 weeks (more 4 weeks) to let him be on some low pain killers and steroids. While the prognosis is extremely low for recovery, there still always a silver of a chance and she suggests we give it a show. At 4 weeks she suggested getting rechecked.
If there is no improvement, then she suggests amputation for enhancing quality of life. Amputation will be around $2000 with removing his damaged tooth at the same time.
Until then he is to be sectioned into a small area for attempted recovery.
I want to say thank you for everyone that has donated so far. It made seeing the specialist an easy decision and I am glad we did it. I feel way more confident in the decisions we are making are the right ones.

UPDATE 1/30/25: Mylo will be going to a specialist tomorrow to get a better look at his leg. It’s been fully confirmed that he is struggling with some severe nerve damage. It is most likely going to cause him to get an MRI. My mom said she would help cover the MRI if it comes down to that. So far from what I am understanding is that the MRI would give us more information on the severity of the injury. If he does or doesn't need nerve repair surgery or if it’s so severe that he needs a complete amputation. Both of those surgery are going to be a couple thousand. Mylo was set as a priority so they were able to get him in tomorrow around lunch time.
We are still at the ER vet. They are trying to get him to eat something then we are going home for the night.

Hello. Thank you for taking the time to every digest the chaos that has unfolded in the last 24 hours.
Yesterday I left to go to an appointment then into the office around 10:30am. Between that time and 5:30pm, my cat Mylo, was able to pull down the blind strings from where they were strapped up and away from their reach. While doing so, he got his leg twisted into them. From what it looked like, he must have jumped down from where he was at and basically hung himself by his back right leg.
My fiancé was the one that found him. We are unsure how long he was stuck there. During the time he was stuck, he did struggle which involved him losing 2 of his claws in the process from trying to pull himself free.
We cut him down and the twisted cord was clipped off his leg and we rushed him to the ER. From there they ran X-rays, and multiple other exams. The X-rays miraculously showed that he had no fractures, breaks or dislocations. That was wonderful news and I thought that was some of the best news we could have gotten. He went home with a bunch of high grade pain killers and I have put him into my small bathroom to restrict his movements.
Unfortunately when the morning came, his true injuries started to show its light. He is walking on his injured leg but its completely folded in.
we had multiple vets recheck his leg and he is not showing any signs of feeling or pain. This is suggesting that he might have a deeper Neurological injury.
The reason why I am here today is because I am currently at $1700 in medical bills for just these last 24 hours. On top of that, a fee weeks ago he also knocked out his large canine tooth and needs surgery to remove that as well, which is another $700-900.
Depending on his healing for the next few months there is the possibility that he might not heal which means he has severed his nerve endings. If that is the case, he will need an amputation. He will not be able to walk on his leg like it currently is. That bill alone can be a couple thousand more. I am setting the gofundme to help relieve some money pressure and get him the help he needs then also so I manage his next possible stages without being strained to do so.
I and Mylo will be forever grateful.
Thank you,
Sarah & Mylo
