If you know me, you know I have a lot to say about sex, shame, and women being told what to do with their bodies.

I’m also a survivor of sexual violence.

So when I see survivors being picked apart while people make excuses for the ones who hurt them, yes, I’m pissed off. And I want to give us somewhere to put that anger that actually helps.

Your clothes are not consent. Your job is not consent. Your sexual history is not consent. Being comfortable with your body does not give anyone permission to violate it. You do not have to be anyone’s idea of a “perfect victim” to deserve safety, care, and support.

My birthday is October 4, and this year, I’m asking my community to SHOW UP for survivors.

I’m partnering with FEMINIST on this fundraiser, with donations benefiting me too. International. Your contribution supports their work connecting survivors of sexual violence with healing resources and community, and helping survivors lead the fight for change.

I love the community we’ve built around being outspoken, owning our bodies, and refusing to live in shame. I want us to bring that same energy to supporting people who need it.

This fundraiser starts with my birthday weekend, but it will continue beyond it. Survivors need support long after everyone stops talking about the headlines.

If you can donate, please do. If you can’t, share this fundraiser. Help us get it in front of people who can contribute, and keep showing up for the survivors in your own life.

And if you’re a survivor reading this: what happened was not your fault. You deserve support whether you’ve told your story publicly or never said a word.

Love you,
Via G.
