Hi everyone!

Some you already know, others may not. Our 4 year old, Myles, was born with a hole in his heart. When we went for a check up in November it was confirmed that he would need heart surgery. In December I received a call to tell us it would have to be open heart surgery as they wouldn't be able to perform laparoscopical surgery to fix his heart. The next day I got the call to inform us that Myles would be scheduled to receive open heart surgery on January 29th. It only gave us a month to prepare which does not seem to be enough time.

Myles will be in the hospital for approximately 5 days after the surgery and will not be able to return to daycare for 6 weeks. During this time Skyler will be off work for a week or more while we are at the IWK and I will be off work for 6 weeks or more as Myles recovers at home.

We have decided to raise some money to help us cover the costs of gas, food, and our stay in Halifax for the week. We will also have other expenses as I'll be off work while Myles is healing and unfortunately the bills will keep coming.
