Myles Milligan Accessible Bathroom
Donation protected
My Uncle Myles has had M.S. for over 20 years and is now at the point of the illness being progressive and thus affecting his daily life more and more. Something as simple as going to the washroom is now a mobility challenge. In order for my Uncle to be able to stay in his current home for several more years and be able to bring help in, he needs to have their bathroom remodeled into an accessible room. One which will aslo be designed in a way that will accomodate his decline in mobility and future needs. My uncle is no longer able to work due to his MS. He has two sons, grade 6 & 8. His wife Megan works fulltime. She also has mobilty challanges as a tragic car accident many years ago left her with metal rods throughout her legs. These rods have caused several issues and she is having surgery to have some rods removed and calcium tumors ground down. Between the two of them, they are a gong show! They do not have the extra finances to do the urgent and required remodels. They need hand rails and eventually a ramp for their front door. They also need their bathroom to be a safe and accesible space ( roll in shower, wheelchair accesible sink and shower wand etc, hand bars etc to assist with transfers )
