Myles Lewis, No flowers, please donate

Donation protected
My name is Deb Lewis and I have set up this go fund me page in memory of my husband Myles Lewis who made his transition from this life to the next on 11-3-2020. I am asking that instead of sending flowers that you would consider putting that amount into this fund which will be used to pay for his final expenses. Thanks

So many of you were prayer warriors praying for his healing and for strength for me to get through this. I appreciate all the prayers and your interest in a person some of you did not even know. I would ask that you continue your prayers to give me the strength and wisdom to get through it.

He was a wonderful man who never found a person that he did not like. The COVID 19 virus took him way to soon. He had been on disability for years but a few months ago he started working for a company called SHIPT and I had not seem him that happy in years, it gave him a reason to get out of bed in the morning. That was a very special time where he was out and making a difference in other peoples lives. He helped co-run 3 DBSA groups per week and he was a friend of Bill W.

Myles and I met the summer of 2002 in a yahoo chat room. Some of you have no idea what a chat room is which is okay. Just ask someone that is over 45 and they might know. Anyway he  said "is there anyone here from Colorado" I told him that I was and that is how our relationship finally started. We  talked nightly via the computer for over 2 month. I felt like I know him before we ever met. He was always open and honest answering any question that I had. We actually met in September 2002 and saw each other weekly until the commute to Gunnison from Florence was just getting to old so I moved up there so that we could get together daily rather than weekly.

About 6 months after we started dating he became ill with severe gastro pains plus overall pain like he was being run over by a steam roller. Over time he was terminated from his work. Gunnison did not have CICP program so we had to drive 4 hours to get to hospital that actually took the CICP information.  We loved Gunnison, but it was not meant for us to live there so we moved to the Springs and I drove him at least 3 times a week to UCHeath  in Denver.

It took about a year for the UCHealth doctors to  figure out why he was so sick. With all the information that he had he gave it to his attorney he was able to apply for disability. He was approved without having to speak to anyone.

Due to the health concerns we made the choice to move to a county that took CICP so we moved just inside the teller and park county line.  It was good that we were in the  county we were in. Over the years he has had flare ups and challenges but currently he was in the best shape that I have seen him in years.
I don't think he had a mean or spiteful bone is his body. He was willing to give what he could (time, talent, insight, compassion and love)  He would give you the shirt off his back if someone needed it.

He has been an X-Ray tech for over 35 years. He was what is known as a traveler in that he would move from hospital to hospital. He was able to see the country from one end to another and get paid very well because of his history. That is how he ended up in Gunnison. He was there on a 6 week rotation then went to another place but he put in to return to Gunnison. Soon there was an  opening and he jumped on it. He was hired there full time so now you know the circle of life that was Myles.

If you have a story that you would like to share, please know that I would like to know how he has touched your life.
