On behalf of the family:
It is with great sadness that we have to write this… On September 11, 2020 our sweet daughter Mykah Norman gained her wings. Her passing occurred suddenly and is a great tragedy for our family. As we prepare to lay Mykah to rest, there are financial costs that we just don’t have… Mykah was found unresponsive early Tuesday morning in Chicago, as she was preparing to celebrate what would have been her 25th birthday on September 9th. While we have been in contact with the local authorities to ensure there has been no foul play, we have to first focus on laying her to rest. It our family’s wishes to bring Mykah home to the DMV area where she can rest in peace amongst her beloved family and friends. We are asking our extended family, friends, colleagues and anyone that this letter my touch to make a donation in this time of need. Most importantly please keep our family and her daughter in your prayers as we go through this devastating time.
If you knew Mykah, you would know that she had big dreams… since becoming a mother, Mykah was working hard to create a stable life and bright future for she and her daughter. Mykah recently obtained her CNA and was planning to start nursing school. It is heartbreaking that she will not be here physically to see her daughter turn one on September 22nd. No parent should ever have to bury their child, but no child should ever have to bury their young parent. We are just heartbroken. As parents, it is our duty to honor our child and the mark that she has made on this earth in her short time. We have decided to donate Mykah’s organs and have her life be a gift to others. Life is just too short.
Don't Cry for Me Mom and Dad
Don't cry for me Mom and Dad
I'm right here.
Although you can't see me
I see your tears.
I visit you often,
I go to work with you each day,
And when it's time for you
to close your eyes,
On your pillow is where I lay.
I hold your hand &
stroke your hair,
And whisper in your ear.
If you're sad today Mom and Dad
Remember, I am here.
God took me home.
This we know is true.
But you'll always be My Parents
Even though I'm not with you.
We will never be apart,
For every time you think of me,
Please know I'm in your Heart.

Rest Peacefully Mykah

In lieu of her untimely transition, the family would be eternally grateful for any assistance one could provide in order to assist the family with funeral expenses and any leftover funds will go towards a living scholarship fund for her soon to be 1 year old daughter Naloni that she leaves behind.
