Our friend Char (Charlotte Dodie Duncan) is finally having surgery on her back. If you know her, you know she has been in pain for several years. She has tried many treatments to avoid surgery, but to no avail. So her LAST option to be free of the debilitating pain is drastic - BACK SURGERY!
We are enlisting your assistance to help her with her expenses for this long-needed surgery. Working for the State she does have good insurance. Unfortunately, her out-of-pocket expense is a whopping $1981. Then she has to survive 2 weeks with NO pay and at least another 4 weeks at 60% pay (short term disability). Her vacation and sick leave are already exhausted due to doctors' appointments and procedures all year, and she doesn’t qualify for the sick-leave pool. So, our friend and dedicated animal savior needs our help! The Back Surgery is scheduled for January 13th and the $1,981 has to be paid by no later than Jan. 11th.
If you don’t know Char, she is a devoted vegan and animal lover. Even in pain she has done her work to promote a healthy vegan lifestyle and help her animal friends. She now has 5 pups (four of them foster failures), and has fostered many others that have been adopted into forever homes. She even cares for some cats in her neighborhood! Her generosity is boundless. It is now our turn to get to be there for our friend and animal lover as she has always been for us.
